Enroll in Your Benefits

You must take action if you wish to be enrolled in Pfizer benefits coverage; if you take no action, you will be enrolled in the coverage described below. For health and insurance coverage, you cannot make changes to your health and insurance coverage during the year unless you experience a qualified life event. You will have an opportunity during the fall Annual Enrollment period to review and/or make changes to that coverage.

Enroll Within 31 Days of Your Hire Date/Eligibility Date

Visit netbenefits.com to enroll in Health and Insurance coverage, including Vacation Purchase. Plus enroll in the Savings Plan.

Visit pfizerbenefitextras.com to enroll in voluntary benefits such as Accident Insurance, Critical Illness, Hospital Indemnity, and Legal Services. You can enroll in all other programs at any time. You can access this site approximately 2 weeks after your hire/eligibility date.

If you are unable to enroll, call 1-866-476-8723 and follow the colleague services prompts for Workday support to reach the Pfizer Colleague Service Center. To verify your identity, you will be asked to confirm your Social Security number, date of birth, and gender. If you need help accessing pfizerbenefitextras.com, call 1-888-926-2525.

After You Enroll in Health and Insurance

N

Effective Coverage

Your health and insurance coverage will generally be effective on your start/eligibility date provided you enroll within 31 days of your start date/eligibility date.
N

Confirmation Statements

Look for a confirmation statement from the Pfizer Benefits Center in the mail approximately two weeks after enrolling. A Benefit Extras confirmation will be emailed to you. Review these statements carefully to make sure they reflect your elections, as changes to your health and insurance benefits are generally not permitted until the next Annual Enrollment.

N

ID Cards

The health plan administrators will mail new ID cards to your home address on file; it may take up to two weeks to receive these. If you need care before receiving your cards, review these “Tips” on how to access certain ID cards online and more.
N

Enrollment Changes

If you want to change your elections within your 31-day election window, call 1-866-476-8723 and follow the Colleague Services prompts to Benefits at Fidelity to speak with a Pfizer Benefits Center representative.

If You Elect the HSA Copay Medical Option

If HealthEquity is unable to certify your identity, they will email you to verify your personal information such as your date of birth, home address, and/or Social Security number in order to set up your account.

Once your account is set up, HealthEquity will mail you a Welcome Kit with details about your HSA account, including your HSA Visa Debit card, within three weeks of your enrollment date.

Important: You must enroll for an HSA account by November 1 of a given year to contribute to your account via payroll deductions or receive Company contributions (if applicable) for that year. If you are hired or enroll after November 1 and want to contribute to the HSA for that same year, you may contribute directly through HealthEquity.

What Happens if I Don’t Enroll

You must take action within 31 days of your hire/eligibility date if you wish to be enrolled in Pfizer benefits coverage. If you don’t take action, you will be enrolled in default coverage (see below) and may not have the benefits coverage you need.

Health, Insurance, or Vacation Purchase

If you don’t enroll within 31 days of your start/eligibility date, you will have only:

  • Basic Life Insurance at one times your annual pay
  • Long-term Disability Insurance at 50 percent of your annual pay

You won’t have any other coverage — including medical, dental, or vision coverage or be able to purchase vacation — and generally won’t have another opportunity to enroll in these benefits until the fall, during the next Annual Enrollment period.

Note: You must designate your gender in Workday when enrolling so carriers can administer coverage for gender-specific services and treatments.

Savings Plan

While you can enroll in the Savings Plan at any time, if you don’t make an election within 31 days of your start/eligibility date, you will be automatically enrolled at a 6 percent before-tax contribution rate. If you do not select your investments, your account will be automatically invested in the Vanguard target date fund based on your year of birth. You will be able to change these default elections at any time.

You will receive detailed Savings Plan information to your Pfizer email after your start/eligibility date, but you can generally access netbenefits.com starting five days before then (unless you are a rehire, in which case you will receive access three business days after your rehire date).

Benefits Extras

If you don’t make Benefit Extras elections within 31 days of your start/eligibility date:

  • You will have to wait until the fall — during the next Annual Enrollment period — to enroll for Accident Insurance, Critical Illness, Hospital Indemnity, and/or Legal Services coverage.
  • You can enroll in any of the other benefits under the program at any time.

As a reminder, you can access Benefit Extras approximately two weeks after your hire/eligibility date.
