Your Time Off

Pfizer recognizes the importance of taking time away from work to relax, refresh, and recharge. Pfizer offers paid holidays including an annual Wellness Day, personal days, and vacation days. A variety of leaves of absence are also available to support you.

Paid Holidays

Full-time colleagues are eligible for 15 Company-paid holidays. This generally includes eight core holidays that will be observed by all locations, six holidays determined by each site, and one Wellness Day. Of the six site-determined holidays, sites may designate some as personal holidays in order to accommodate personal or religious needs. Any remaining site-designated holidays will be determined locally. Part-time colleagues are eligible for holidays that fall on their regularly scheduled workday. Vacation

Up to three weeks (15 business days) of Company paid vacation are available to newly hired full-time colleagues, and to part-time colleagues on a prorated basis, with additional days when certain service milestones are reached. For regular, full-time colleagues, vacation allowance is determined by years of service. For part-time colleagues, the vacation schedule is prorated based on the percentage of time worked; for example, if you work 20 hours a week, your vacation allowance would be 50% (20 hours/40 hours) of the number of weeks shown.

Note: If you are part of a company that was acquired by Pfizer, your vacation weeks may be grandfathered in at a higher milestone until you meet the next level of service years. Vacation Purchase Program

In addition to regular Company-paid vacation, if you are a benefits eligible colleague, you have the option to purchase 1 to 4 weeks of additional vacation in one-week increments either during Annual Enrollment or if you’re newly eligible before July 1. Purchased vacation must be used for the year it’s elected and it isn’t eligible to be carried over. Any unused vacation purchase days will be refunded to you at the end of the calendar year. Note for new hires/newly eligible colleagues: If your start/eligibility date is before July 1, you have the option to purchase 1 to 4 weeks of vacation during your 31-day eligibility period. If your start/eligibility date is July 1 or later, you will be eligible for Vacation Purchase during the next Annual Enrollment period. Vacation Purchase is in addition to the regular Company-provided vacation days.

Other Time Off/Leaves of Absence

Various types of leave may be available for other purposes, including up to 12 weeks paid parental leave, up to 10 days paid caregiver leave, up to 10 days paid bereavement leave, and up to 12 weeks of unpaid family and medical leave (FMLA). Learn more about Other Time Off/Leaves of Absence.
