Supplemental Health Insurance Coverage

While Pfizer medical and vision coverage may pick up most of your health care and vision expenses, supplemental insurance provides extra financial protection to help with out-of-pocket costs, as well as unexpected costs like transportation costs, additional day care expenses, or household help.

Pfizer offers three supplemental plans you may enroll in, but only during Annual Enrollment (though you may cancel coverage at any time) — Accident Insurance, Critical Illness Insurance, and/or Hospital Indemnity Insurance. These benefits pay a non-taxable lump-sum payment that can be used any way you like. Through the Pfizer Benefit Extras Program, you have access to these benefits at discounted group rates. You can also enroll in the Vision Access Program year-round by going to pfizerbenefitextras.com or calling 1-888-926-2525. Representatives are available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern time.

Note for new hires/newly eligible colleagues: You will not be able to access pfizerbenefitextras.com until about two weeks after your start/eligibility date. You may only enroll in these benefits within 31 days of first being eligible or during Annual Enrollment (though you may cancel coverage at any time).

Accident Insurance

Accidents can happen when you least expect them. And while you can’t always prevent them, you can get help to make your recovery less expensive and stressful. Accident Insurance provides a tax-free lump-sum payment to use at your discretion for common accidental injuries, such as fractures, concussions, and burns. This coverage can be used to pay your out-of-pocket medical expenses if you experience a covered accident. See our Benefit Extras Brochure to learn more.

Critical Illness Insurance

This plan provides a tax-free lump-sum payment to use at your discretion if you or an insured dependent experiences one of the following medical conditions: cancer (including skin cancer), heart attack, stroke, kidney failure, major organ transplant or coronary artery bypass graft, Parkinson’s disease, coma, severe burns, or benign brain tumors. For more information, including a full list of covered diagnoses and applicable benefit percentage payable, see our Benefit Extras Brochure .

Note: Proof of Good Health isn’t required for Critical Illness Insurance; however, for a benefit to be payable, the covered condition must be diagnosed after your coverage effective date.

Hospital Indemnity Insurance

Hospital indemnity insurance is coverage that can help safeguard your finances by providing you with a lump-sum payment — one payment all at once — when you or your loved ones need it most.

Note: Proof of Good Health isn’t required for Hospital Indemnity Insurance and there are no pre-existing condition exclusions. See our Benefit Extras Brochure to learn more.

To view contributions, enroll, or access your benefits, go to pfizerbenefitextras.com or call 1-888-926-2525. Representatives are available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern time.

Vision Access Program

You receive automatic access at no cost to you. The program provides discounts through a nationwide network of vision providers. Note: You must be enrolled in Accident, Critical Illness, or Hospital Indemnity Insurance to participate in the Vision Access Program. These discounts don’t replace or coordinate with the Pfizer Vision Plan, which is administered by EyeMed Vision Care.
